Putting a repair operation into the regular process has the disadvantage that it reduces the urgency of fixing the root cause of the problem.

I agree with you and it could be an option to call such a repair operation just when there is a specific prefix (version="0.9" ?)...

Of course, the repair operation would have its own duration...
