As others have noted, ten years agothe World Wide Web Consortium published the Extensible Markup Language (XML) 1.0 as a W3C Recommendation. We'll be marking the anniversary year in various ways over the coming twelve months, both online and at conferences. See http://www.w3.org/2008/xml10/ for the birthday card.
