Tell us a bit more about the project and the goals. I'm wrapped up in working X3D browser testing right now having released a new world. The results are interesting but I blog that stuff. My recent experience suggests to me that there are real problems with working on open lists these days given the IP predators and the loose state of software patents about to get worse because of first to file rules. In 2027 we may not have to move new data because the web will be so badly fragmented into a couple of uber-data centers with little or no movement of information among them and all services and formats within them completely locked down.
