days back..

   I was reading the JSR 173 (Streaming API for XML)..
In section "5.1.2 Reading Attributes and Namespaces"
various methods for getting attribute information are
listed. One of the method is String
getAttributeValue(String namespaceUri,String
localName); It seems *we must* supply the namespace
URI to this method to get the attribute value. 

But sometimes the XML document does'nt have
namespaces. So in the above method, the namespaceUri
argument must be optional..

I have not recieved any response so far (JSR people
are surely busy people!).. Is this a valid point or I
am wrong?
