Earlier this month Enterprise Data Forum had a track about XML and SOA. There
were also tracks on modeling , metadata, and data integration.

The XML-focused sessions included schema, XMI, prototyping, metadata for
enterprise architectures and so on. Overall there was a lot more discussion of
conceptual models, analytics, ontologies, and semantics than parsing or markup
techniques.
