>Does anyone know of an XML Schema for describing a patent? The way to get one is to convert the DTD provided at the PTO site into an XML Schema. There are lots of DTD to XML Schema conversion tools. So that shouldn't be hard. You should be aware that the USPTO will be changing the schema that they use in 2004. The new schema will be much more inline with the international standards in this area. You can find DTD's for the old (and current) format at: http://www.uspto.gov/web/offices/ac/ido/oeip/sgml/st32/redboo k/grbv25x.html and http://www.uspto.gov/web/menu/patdata.html Information on the new "ICE" format (DTD's, etc.) can be found at: http://www.uspto.gov/web/offices/ac/ido/oeip/sgml/st32/redboo k/rb2004/rb2004.html bob wyman ---- Original message ---- >Date: Tue, 25 Nov 2003 21:22:22 -0600 >From: "Aaron Bawcom" <aaron_bawcom@i...> >Subject: XML Schema for Patents >To: <xml-dev@l...> > >Does anyone know of an XML Schema for describing a patent? > > >------------------------------------------------------------ ----- >The xml-dev list is sponsored by XML.org <http://www.xml.org>, an >initiative of OASIS <http://www.oasis-open.org> > >The list archives are at http://lists.xml.org/archives/xml- dev/ > >To subscribe or unsubscribe from this list use the subscription >manager: <http://lists.xml.org/ob/adm.pl> >
