Early registration discounts for the SVG Open 2003 Web Graphics Conference are available until June 13, 2003.  This conference, to be held in Vancouver, Canada from July 13-18, 2003, is an opportunity for IT managers, software developers, Web developers, GIS/CAD specialists and others to learn the latest about how to use the World Wide Web Consortium's Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) standard to deliver sophisticated graphical solutions over the Web.

The conference is hosted by SchemaSoft and the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), with sponsorship by Corel Corporation.  It will include courses, presentations, and a product exhibit area, all housed within the modern conference facilities at Westin Bayshore Resort and Marina.  The sessions will explore techniques to author, process and use SVG in a variety of areas including data-driven graphics, Web services, content delivery to mobile devices, interactive mapping, computer-aided design (CAD), print publishing, multimedia, user interfaces, business reporting and scientific visualization.

Since the formation of the SVG Working Group in 1998, SchemaSoft has been heavily involved in co-authoring the SVG standard, engaging in SVG-related research, and developing SVG software for clients. The W3C was created to lead the Web to its full potential by developing common protocols that promote its evolution and ensure its interoperability.
