XSLT and XPath questions would be better posted to the following list: http://www.mulberrytech.com/xsl/xsl-list There are a number of subscribers who would enthusiastically respond to such questions. There is also an *excellent* FAQ at: http://www.dpawson.co.uk >I'm trying to use XSL to transform an XML document to a text document, but >am having trouble getting the <xsl:template match> to succeed. >... > <Element3 > xmlns="urn:<http://www.somesite.com/someschema.xml>http://www.somesite.com/someschema.xml"> > >... ><xsl:template match="/Element1/Element2/Element3/Element4"> > Match succeeded > <xsl:value-of select="Element5" /> > <xsl:value-of select="Element6" /> ></xsl:template> Unprefixed names in XPath are only from "no namespace" and never from the default namespace. Since your XML is defining the default namespace, you are obliged in XPath to prefix all element names from that namespace using a namespace prefix, even though the source document isn't using a namespace prefix. I hope this helps. ...................... Ken -- Upcoming hands-on in-depth XSLT/XPath and/or XSL-FO: - North America: Feb 3 - Feb 7,2003 G. Ken Holman mailto:gkholman@C...
