I'll leave that to others to recommend, as I'm afraid my own reading is deficient 
in that area too. My philosophy reading is limited [1].

Godel, Escher, Bach seems another excellent reference also missing from 
my collection. Jo Walsh's post to rdfweb-dev today includes an interesting 
quote from GEB [2] -- both in the context of FOAF and URIs (if you replace 
"person" with "Resource", or maybe just "URI").
