And how many programming languages will we have 
to learn to apply XML afterwards?

I get nervous when programming language experts set 
out to fix what's wrong with XML.  Markup is supposed 
to save us from people like that.  :-)

Seriously:  after this is done, 

a.  What will the average XML hacker be able to do 
that they couldn't do before? 

b.  What will the expert XML hacker be able to do 
that they could do before with a bit more effort?

The Web tires of more elegant solutions to small 
problems and standards for systems we don't share.
