Yes indeed you're correct, that page doesn't seem to be up-to-date.
IMHO SVG has much more potential then only being used in the typical desktop Web browser.
In this browser we're indeed obliged to use the Adobe Viewer. But my feeling is that this will change. I'm really hoping that the Mozilla effort succeeds.

Have a look at http://www.w3.org/Graphics/SVG/SVG-Implementations.htm8
There is clearly more then the Adobe SVG viewer.

Unfortunately that page is *way* out of date, as you can confirm by checking the dates given against each viewer.

The Batik viewer is making a lot of progress but it is a Java viewer (alongside a development toolkit) so isn't appropriate for embedding in a typical Web browser.

The SVG Mobile viewers are progressing and are discussed on the SVG-Mobile mailing list at

For desktop brower use of SVG there is the Adobe Viewer (the most complete implementation but, at least in its public version, frozen for several months) and the Mozilla native SVG project (a very partial implementation at present).
