RE: URIs harmful

joshuas position
What exactly do you mean by "namespaces in .NET" ? Do you mean CLR namespaces that are analogous to C++ namespaces and Java packages? Or do you mean the choice of namespace URIs in various schemas that are related to the .NET strategy? Or something else completely?

However, which ever .NET you are talking about there is nothing odd in the fact that Joshua's position may be different from it.

	 (1) the
system has some similarities to Microsoft's use of "namespaces" in .NET (so
I think Joshua position is a bit odd) and (2) TimBL wants to create a
"semantic web" but he is against fixing resources at the end of a URI (if my
understanding of his writing in correct).

If you think of the difference between URI and a citation (especially legal
citations) to literature, you may see some benefit.
