We don't all buy or sell XML systems.  Some of us give them away. 
Others of us use them as glue between diverse parts.  Some of us (more
and more quite likely) don't call our work XML but we use XML anyway.

The "business perspective on XML" may be valuable, but it's hardly the
only valuable perspective.
