Not really. More like REST is RPC *used* right. 

One of the points I've been trying to make is that "right" is 
subjective. The other being that REST != HTTP.

Speaking of which, I threw an implementation together of a thing I 
call XOAS (XML On A Socket). It basically allows you to throw XML, and 
(optionally) get some XML back.
