One other good reason (IMHO) to study OODBMS is that there seems to be 
two kinds of "containers" which are a natural fit as a starting point 
for a XML Database, the first is a hierarchical database (to store XML 
documents as trees) and the second is a OODBMS (to store XML as an 
object oriented structure which is eventually but not necessarly DOMs).

This seems to be one of the reasons why several players in the OODBMS 
arena are coming on the market with XML databases...
