I'm not as articulate as many others on this list, nor do I have the deep
knowledge of markup (and the history of markup) that many others on this
list possess. It's always enlightening following these threads.

I do know, though, that I always have a knee-jerk aversion to claims from
people claiming to be the "father" of this or that. There are always those
who have a vision that goes beyond others, and they certainly deserve
credit, but there is also usually a great deal more of a collaborative
effort that goes behind these successes.

To paraphrase Einstein, those who see farther than others are usually
standing on the shoulders of others.
