[XML-DEV Mailing List Archive Home] [By Thread] [By Date] [Recent Entries] [Reply To This Message] RE: Father of XML?
Well, I knew I'd get some valuable history lessons if I opened my big mouth. > From: Bullard, Claude L (Len) [mailto:clbullar@i...] <snip/> > Lots of successes so lots of credit to > go round. What he said. :-) I'm not as articulate as many others on this list, nor do I have the deep knowledge of markup (and the history of markup) that many others on this list possess. It's always enlightening following these threads. I do know, though, that I always have a knee-jerk aversion to claims from people claiming to be the "father" of this or that. There are always those who have a vision that goes beyond others, and they certainly deserve credit, but there is also usually a great deal more of a collaborative effort that goes behind these successes. To paraphrase Einstein, those who see farther than others are usually standing on the shoulders of others.
