xml patient record
At 11:30 AM 2/18/00 +0100, [... various people...] wrote about XML for
patient records and healthcare...

Although (?because) this is an area I am deeply involved with, XML-DEV may
not be the best place to discuss it. Note that GCA meetings often have a
health care track - XML99 and XML2000 (Paris) both do and I hope to be
involved in the latter.

The problem is that DTDs and schemas come out so frequently that if we were
to discuss them here we could be overwhelmed. What do others think? My own
view is that if the domain throws up generic problems (e.g. how do we bolt
several DTDs together, these are *generic* problems my schema has thrown
up) then XML-DEV is appropriate.

However, it is clearly an area of great interest both specifically, and
more generally for DTD discussion. Clearly OASIS and other repositories
will act as reference locations, but XML'ers may want more...
