Neal WaltersSubject: Is this really well-formed?

I had an odd-ball case where IE was not showing the XML, so I brought it to StylusStudio (2008 1050g), which also said it was well formed.

<ns0:DataRequest xmlns:ns0="https://abc.com/DataRequest">
<ns5:DataResponseEntitlements xmlns="https://abc.com/DataResponseEntitlements"/>
</ns0:DataRequest>

It's missing the ns5 on the xmlns:.

I was using a special-case text scrubber to cause this odd scenario, so it was my bug. But I assumed StylusStudio would help identify the error faster, and it didn't.

Thanks,
Neal Walters

Hi Neal,
well-formedness is less restrictive than namespace validity, so that's why the missing prefix definition wasn't detected.

Ok, maybe this could be a feature request then. I believe it's something a software tool should definitely, instead of relying on "eyeballs". Maybe you could have a WC3 Validate, and a Super-Strong Validate.
