In the (app-xml)xml mapping,i want to get the O/P element as
<EstimatedDischarge />
and not :
<EstimatedDischarge><EstimatedDischarge />

how can i get it?

i am using GENTRAN 6.1 in win XP environment.

are you asking how to control the output of a transformation run by Stylus Studio or by Gentran 6.1?

And also, why does it make a difference? One of the rules of XML is that all XML processors treat <x></x> and <x/> exactly the same.
