Venkat PSubject: calling javascript function in XSL tag
Author: Venkat P
Date: 17 Jun 2008 08:55 AM
Hi how can I call a javascript function in the XSL

Please observe this

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<xsl:stylesheet
version="1.0"
xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"
xmlns:msxsl="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:xslt"
xmlns:user="my-utility-function">
<xsl:output method="html"/>
<msxsl:script language="JScript" implements-prefix="user"><![CDATA[
function DivideString1()
{
var where_is_mytool="home//mytool///mytool.cgi////abcdefg";
var mytool_array=where_is_mytool.split("/");
var str=mytool_array.join("\r\n");
return str;
}
]]>
</msxsl:script>
<xsl:template match="/">

<xsl:value-of select="user:DivideString1()"/>

</xsl:template>
</xsl:stylesheet>

When I use the above code, I get the following error!

SystemID: D:\XML\123.xsl
Location: 20:0
Description: The URI my-utility-function does not identify an external Java class

And need some info on how to declare the name space also. Here I did not understand what 'my-utility-function' refer to.

Please help me.

Thanq

Hi,
which processor are you using to run the stylesheet? You are using extensions available only in MSXML, but the fact that the error message talks about a Java class lets me think that you are actually using a Java-based processor.
