Subject:Stylus connecting to eXcelon: class not registered Author:Olivier Kil Date:02 May 2000 11:24 AM
Hello,
We are currently running eXcelon DAP 2.1 on a NT Server 4.0 server with Service Pack 5. Stylus 2.0 on NT 4.0 Workstation.
The machine running Stylus 2.0 also has installed the client package as delivered with the eXcelon 2.1 installation.
From this machine we actually can access eXcelon with eXcelon Explorer and via eXcelon Management Console.
I hope this clarifies our situation a bit.
Kind regards,

On the client, what is the content of your xlnclient.properties file (in the classes directory of your eXcelon installation)? On the server, which of DCOM and CORBA do you have enabled, and on what port?
We are using CORBA transport on port 1050 as well as DCOM transport.
Could it be that Stylus requires authentication? Because the server is running on a test-server which is not in our domain. The clients are in our Windows NT domain.

Hello,
When switching in Stylus from "Open" - "File" to "eXcelon" the error already occurs.
After playing around on the server which has a Stylus installed as well I came across a remark "COM.API - Licence prohibits this operation" on the same action within Stylus.
Could this have something to do with the above problem?
Kind regards,
