I have been assigned a task at which I am the newest of the new -- to create an XML document for upload from our data using only certain fields from a schema. I have created the stylesheet using sample data and the original schema transmitted to us. What is the final process of applying a stylesheet to the data? Although I have read the documentation, it eludes me. Thanks for any help.

In which format your data is?

Do you need to execute the transformation as batch or just from inside Stylus Studio?

Take a look to the online help you may find what you are looking for:

- Chapter 1 "Using Stylus Studio from the Command Line"
- Chapter 4 "Working with XSLT"

My data is from a .csv for which I used the tool to create an .xml. I then used the .xml as a source document and the schema (.xsd) that was sent to us to create the stylesheet. Now I need to take the final step and create the .xml from our data and the stylesheet's structure to be uploaded over the web.

What I am looking for is a step-by-step to accomplish that.

Beth,

Assuming you have your CSV data as c:\mydata.csv and your XSLT as c:\myxslt.xsl

You can transform your data using the XSLT command-line processor with the following syntax:

StylusXslt -in adapter:CSV:newline=crlf:sep=%2c:first=yes:escape=%5c:quotes=%27%22?file:///c:/mydata.csv -out file:///c:/result.xml file:///c:/myxslt.xsl

The result will be saved as c:\result.xml

you can find StylusXslt under
c:\Program Files\Stylus Studio 6 XML Enterprise Edition\bin

If you need to execute the tranformation programmatically for instance as part of yuor web server you will need to write a Java program using the Stylus Studio API and a JAXP conformant XSLT processor.
