Author: Manikandan Surendranath

Below is my table which I am sorting.

<table>
<row><cell>First Name</cell><cell>Last Name</cell></row>
<row><cell>Nancy</cell><cell>Drew</cell></row>
<row><cell>David</cell><cell>Martin</cell></row>
</table>

after sort by first cell of the row the table looks like

<table>
<row><cell>David</cell><cell>Martin</cell></row>
<row><cell>First Name</cell><cell>Last Name</cell></row>
<row><cell>Nancy</cell><cell>Drew</cell></row>
</table>

I do not want the first row to be sorted. Can any one help?

what prevent you from handling them separately? first row first, then the rest rows with for-each or apply-templates with xsl:sort
