Hi Durga,<br>
<br>
<br>
We currently don't have this functionality built-in.<br>
I added your suggestion to our database.<br>
<br>
As workaround you can use the attached XSLT to preview the result.<br>
You need to configure the scenario properties to point to your XML file<br>
<br>
Hope this helps <br>

If I have understood correctly you are authoring FO using the XML editor.
You are already working with an XML file, you just need to point
the XSLT scenario to the file you are authoring.

I have a LotusNotes application with which i am generating hardcoded
.fo file(similar to generating text file and saving it as .fo file)
which will contain the fo tags and data. I am giving it as input
to the FOP software using a batch file.
Shell(|C:\FOP\viewfop.bat "C:\FOP\reservation.fo" "C:\FOP\reservation.pdf"|, 1)
when the shell statement executes it will create the pdf file.
This solution works just fine for me, as it doesn't require any XML and XSLT
Here i know how the output PDF should look like so now i am trying to
build a FO file accordingly, and i am looking for an editor which will
create and let me preview the FO file.

<br>
what you have called <<" ... hardcoded .fo file(similar to generating text file and saving it as .fo file) <br>
">><br>
arean XML documents; FO is XML.<br>
<br>
Now what I have suggested was to open those .fo files using the Stylus Studio XML Editor<br>
do the editing you need then open the xslt i sent you using <br>
the XSLT editor and configure the scenario properties (only one time).<br>
<br>
then run the preview as many time you want to see the result as PDF.<br>
<br>
I posted some screenshots to show the process<br>
Hope this helps<br>

This thread is very old. Is there now a way to edit the .fo file directly? Where is it kept? Or can I enter .FO code into the XSL file directly. (Looking to control page breaks for tables, for one thing.)
