Hi,
I have downloaded 5.0-127e for evaluation.

I want to make a static html-sheet more dynamic.

The problem is, that the WYSIWYG-window of the Style Sheet editor claims, that it needs MS IE 5.5 or newer.

But: I _have_ already IE5.5SP2 (german) with several service packs and hot fixes installed on Win2KSP2 (and several hot fixes). I am local administrator.

The preview window works however...

What is the solution?

The warning message you are getting is wrong; Stylus Studio requires MS IE
6.x to enable the WYSIWYG window.

this is too bad...

Is there really any reason to require IE6? This is not mentioned in your requirements list of your data sheet.

I don't want to update to IE6SP1, cause a lot of people had stability issues with this version.

My machine is running well, never touch a running machine!

If your prog doesn't run with IE55SP2, I don't need to waste my time for further evaluation and deinstall it.

Will look for another solution.

Yes, the list of requirement is out-dated in that respect.

IE6 does fix a large number of issues in the edit component, which is what
wysiwyg uses; at some point we had to choose if we wanted to degrade
functionality for all users because we had to support IE 5.5, or if IE6 was
mature enough to consider it as a requirement for the whole editing
functionality; we chose the latter.

That's strange; what we and others have experienced is exactly the opposite.

Only the XML-to-HTML WYSIWYG functionality is affected by this requirement;
if that's the only area you want to evaluate and if you have strong reasons
for not upgrading to IE6, then I can't do anything else than agreeing with you.
