A. EvansSubject: Trouble Registering Java Extension Classes
Author: A. Evans

I am having trouble registering java extension classes according to the instructions in the help files. I have a newly created xml document. I have set the class path to include the jar file with the extensions. I navigate to the Mapper tab and right click to display the shortcut menu. I select Java Functions > Register Java Extension Class.... and get the Java Class Browser dialog. I navigate to the class with the extensions, select it and click OK. If I am reading the instructions properly, the next time I right-click the mapper to get the shortcut menu, the Java Functions option should give me all of my extensions. Is that correct? All I get is the Register Java Extension Class.... option again.

I have been able to use the functions by giving the class file a namespace reference and typing in the extensions by hand, but I can't get the extensions to appear in the shortcut menu.

What am I missing? Or have I just misunderstood how things are supposed to work?

It should be working. Is your classpath set properly?
Also, we're pretty picky about the method signatures we'll
put into the mapper. Do your methods match that described
at http://www.stylusstudio.com/docs/v2006/d_xslt38.html
and the nearby pages?

Thanks for the fast response and helpful advice. We had to change our methods a bit.
