Hello,

Stylus studio seems to generate break-line at the outfile file when a template is empty as : when indent attribute is set to no.

How to disable this feature ?
Does Style studio interpret correctly this sequence ob byte as a "single" character :
"00 0D 00 0A" (in hex mode). Because when I put this rule :
x
x replace the place of the break-line !

J.

Jorielle,
I'm not sure I understand what you are saying; let me try.

What you are saying is that if you have something like this:

{xsl:template match="/"}
aaa
{xsl:call-template name="test"/}
bbb
{/xsl:template}

{xsl:template name="test"/}

You can see an output which is:
aaa

bbb

....and you wouldn't expect the extra empty between "aaa" or "bbb"? (you are
using a matched template, but I guess the meaning is the same)

Actually, that's the expected behavior, and the two newlines after the
"aaa" block come from the newline character after the "aaa" character in
the source XSLT and from the newline character after the {call-template}
instruction.

If you modify the stylesheet into:

{xsl:template match="/"}
aaa{xsl:call-template name="test"/}bbb
{/xsl:template}

....the newline characters will go away, as you would expect.

Of course, if you change the "test" template definition to be:
{xsl:template name="test"}x{/xsl:template}

....the result in the original case would be:
aaa
x
bbb

Removing the newlines from the XSLT, the result would be:
aaaxbbb

I'm not positive I'm answering your question though. If I'm not, please
give me more details about what you are trying to do and what behavior you
experience.

Thanks,
Minollo
