While editting a schema in text-view, SS is automatically checking the schema for validity or well-formedness as I type.
This means that until I've finished doing all the changes necessary to complete a mod (e.g. changing the name of a Type definition) it keeps throwing warnings and I have to keep hitting "ok" to get rid of the d**n dialogue before I can continue editting.
Not sure if this is the default setting or it is something I did.
But now I want to turn it off now - its driving me nuts.

The syntax check while editing XML Schema shouldn't interrupt your work popping up messages; can you send us/describe us a testcase so that we can understand what's going on?
What Stylus Studio version are you running? (Help | About)

I'm using SS 6.1 build 287e.
Watching the chatter in the window frame I think I see what is happening.
My schemas <import> a number of external namespaces, where the schemaLocation attribute points to a web-accessible schema document.
When I first load the schema document it resolves all the dependencies by chasing off and getting the remote documents (slow - but OK once).
The problem is that it then does not appear to cache these, so every subsequent keystroke it reloads all the dependencies from over the web -
since the imports have a chain of other imports this is excruciatingly slow - particularly if the remote server or link is having a bad day which happens sometimes. This essentially makes editting impossible.
Is there something in the settings I should look at?
In contrast, when I ask it to _validate_, SS respects my catalog document, and loads copies that I store locally - much faster.
How come the validator understands OASIS catalog, but not the editor?

Thanks Minollo.
Editting appears to be slow in both views, though when I turn off the synchronized views things get a little better.
I have tried to install updates, but I am unable to complete the install as I have no Activation Key.
My SS license is a "cross-grade" from XML Spy: Digital River supplied a download link that I could install with no activation key.
I would be grateful if I could be supplied with an Activation Key in order to test the update and see if it makes SS useable for me.
