Subject:Does Stylus Studio / DataDirect support ODETTE? (ORDERR) Author:Jon Roberts Date:23 Feb 2013 05:36 AM
We use Stylus Studio & DataDirect XML converters for .net to add an EDI interface into our in-house systems.
We have a requirement from a new client who plans to send us a EDI file in ODETTE format. The message name is ORDERR.
I can't see this listed in Stylus Studio and the example file they supplied was not recognised when I opened it.
Is there any support for this type of file? Any ideas / suggestions how I can convert it?
I only need to extract about half a dozen fields from the message and I don't need to create any response it ODETTE. As it's import only, I guess I could write code manually to do this, but that would assume the structure is consistent. Is that a reasonable option or would I be walkin into a minefield doing that?

Since posting this question I have received more details of the message structure.
The message is reported to be:
Standard: ODETTE
Syntax: EDIFACT
Version: 1
Having looked at the detailed structure of the message, I believe I could write something to extract the information I need if I have to. However if you have any better suggestions, I'd appreciate your advice.
