Home > Online Product Documentation > Table of Contents > Benefits of XPath Benefits of XPathXPath is designed for XML documents. It provides a single syntax that you can use for queries, addressing, and patterns. XPath is concise, simple, and powerful. XPath has many benefits, as follows:
When you define a query, keep in mind that XML data can be represented as a tree. A tree is a hierarchical representation of XML data. The root node is the top of the tree. Each element, attribute, text string, comment, and processing instruction corresponds to one node in the tree. A tree also shows the relationships among the nodes. For more information on tree structure, see Tree Representation of a Sample XML Document. |
XML Validator
Stylus Studio has a built-in XML validator that supports industry-standard DTD and XML Schema validators including MSXML 4.0 SAX, MSXML 4.0 DOM, Microsoft .NET XML Parser (System.XML), Xerces-J 2.5.1, XSV 2.6, etc. Validate XML with Stylus Studio.
Multi Channel Publishing
Multi channel publishing lets you go beyond single-source publishing of HTML and PDF to also generate simultaneously for non-document forms, such as to communicate with partners or drive spreadsheets.
XQuery and Web Services
XQuery provides a flexible means for data abstraction, while Web services provide process abstraction. In this online video demonstration, learn how integrated XQuery & Web service tools simplify development of XQuery-based Web service applications.
Support for the Saxon XQuery Processor
Stylus Studio's XQuery tools feature integrated support for the Saxon SA 8.7.3 XQuery and XSLT processor so you can Edit, Debug and Run XQuery using Saxon. Java code generation support lets you deploy Saxon XQuery applications with just one click.
