History:
I had an older version of Stylus Studio on my machine.
I recently got a new license from the company that I work for (Professional Suite)

Problem:
After installing the software, I get an exception as per the subject. Also see snapshot

Can someone please assist? I really need to use the software for work..

Hi Tinu,

Have you tried to reboot your system?

If that doesn't solve the problem please install the Visual C++ run-time manually, the package is here
http://download.stylusstudio.com/stylusstudio/downloads/vcredist_x86.exe

you still need the x86 version, Stylus Studio is 32 bits. Use the link I posted on my previous message.

In addition, I can see the following in the event logs:

Dependent Assembly Microsoft.VC80.MFC,processorArchitecture="x86",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",type="win32",version="8.0.50727.6195" could not be found. Please use sxstrace.exe for detailed diagnosis.

Can you find the install log in your TEMP folder?
It should have a pretty recognizable name, see if can find what triggered the error.

Is the Windows Modules Installer service (TrustedInstaller) running?

Have you checked if Windows Update has any pending installation for VC C++ runtime?

Yes, I can see the following in the log file (please note that I have updated the previous comment as well):

The Windows Modules Installer was set to 'Manual' but I started the service and I still get this issue.

How can I check the updates point?

To check if you have updates to install go to
Control Panel -> System and Security -> Windows Update

The following link points to the most recent VC++ runtime
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=26347
click on download for vcredist_x86.EXE

There are few posts on Microsoft Support which suggest to check the system integrity using the following command from a command prompt started as administrator

sfc /VERIFYONLY

Hello Ivan,

Thanks for that, I tried the link but I cannot install the package (VC++) for a similar reason.
I also ran the integrity checks and still no luck.
Any other ideas? Is there some way to identify exactly the missing configuration?

Sorry Tinu,

We have no additional ideas, the problem seems to be very peculiar to your system. You may be running an anti-virus or anti-spyware software which conflicts with the Microsoft Installer, or some of the core windows component not configured properly, I am afraid you will need to look for help elsewhere.
