The File open dialog has a rude habit of forgetting which file filter you used last time. Since there are so many filters, it is nuisance scrolling down each time to reselect it. Please have it default to the last filter used.

I second this, as it is quite cumbersome, especially while you can only open one file at a time using the "open file" dialog.
