Ken RozinskySubject: xslt help for a noobie

Hello,

I've been tasked with seeing if we can move our invoice generation to fop from a commercial product.

Not having much experience with xslt I'm hoping somebody out there can help me with a couple of issues I've ran into.

1. When the xml for our invoices is generated, the 'details' tag might or might not exist depending on if there was any activity on the account that month. When I create a table with the details, the conversion to pdf works great except it fails on accounts with no details tag. Is there a way to construct the fo to ignore the details section if it does not exist?

2. The invoice contains a 'charge summary' section that lists a summary of charge types with id,description, amount. Displaying as a table is no problem but how would I go about displaying just one entry in the section with a particular id?

Because we want to use Apache fop, I cannot use any xslt 2 features.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards.

We can't help you unless you post your xml, xsl and sample output pdf and give an explanation as well
