Hi all, SS 2008 has basically stopped working for me. I'm using the latest version on Windows Server 2003 over a terminal server session. When I open an xml file, the interface does not refresh the main viewing area and so I end up with reminants of whatever was there before - for example the splash screen. Is anyone else suffering with this? Richard

We use terminal server here, and have not seen it, but personally
I'm not surprised. I've had similar problems with other applications.
Stylus Studio doesn't do anything "funny" for graphics.

Often it has to do with the video card or the drivers you are using
on the client machine. Are your drivers up-to-date?

Yes, thanks, that must be it. For some reason though only Stylus is affected. I just need to keep logging in and out.

I have no idea though how to (or whether to) fix video drivers on the server terminal-server sessions. I had the feeling that terminal services abstracted the video drivers - perhaps not.

Thanks, Richard

In my case, it was the client-side drivers that were the trouble.
For some reason, TS seems to stress them.
I've seen this on more than one client platform, too.

Fantastic - problem sorted.

I had recently turned up the volume on Vista to the 'full Vista experience', Vista Aero. That meant that the graphics card in my laptop was running two 1920 x 1200 displays - one for Vista and one for the Server 2003 terminal session.

I'm not 100% sure but I suspect my graphics card may have been running out of memory. That certainly seems plausable. I also noticed another problem in that the display was reverting to the system font on dialogs - that would point to the same thing.

Anyway, I've turned back to Vista Basic now, removed the desktop backgrounds and made sure that I didn't have the usual 12 windows open on both systems. Hopefully that should fix it.

Best regards and thanks for your help.

Richard
