Anthony BatemanSubject: Viewing Web Service Call http string
Author: Anthony Bateman
Date: 25 Jan 2008 10:57 AM
We have a client trying to call a web service running on one of our systems. They are having problems tring to compose the http call to send in. I am able to do it with Stylus Studio, so I would like to send them the http of the web service call so that they can investigate a bit.

Is there any way I can see what that http string would be that is generated by a web service call from Stylus Studio?

Kind Regards,

Tony

Hi Anthony,

Do you have more details on the error your client is receiving?

Did they try to use both clients Apache Axis and Microsoft .NET?
http://www.stylusstudio.com/docs/v2008/d_webservices21.html#wp355794

Are you able to trace their call on the server side?

If they are running the latest Stylus Studio 2008 they can configure a proxy server with the following command

java -cp ddxqaxis.jar com.ddtek.xquery.axis.utils.tcpmon <local port> <remote host> <remote port>

ddxqaxis.jar can be found under

c:\Program Files\
-Stylus Studio 2008 XML Enterprise Suite\
--components\
---DataDirect XQuery\
----lib

You will then instruct Web Service call composer to use the proxy server
http://www.stylusstudio.com/docs/v2008/d_webservices21.html#wp355794

The proxy utility can help to investigate what is travelling on the wire

Hope this helps
