Hello,

I'm trying to work with an XHTML doc (converted from HTML using TIDY) and need to identify the XPATH of a particular element.

Stylus is generating paths similar to:
/*[local-name()='html' and namespace-uri()='http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml']/*[local-name()='body' and namespace-uri()='http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml'][1]/*[local-name()='div' and namespace-uri()='http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml'][1]/*[local-name()='div' and namespace-uri()='http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml'][2]/*[local-name()='table' and namespace-uri()='http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml'][1]/*[local-name()='tr' and namespace-uri()='http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml'][2]/*[local-name()='td' ...

But I believe I need paths of the form:
/html/body/div/div[2]/table ...

I'm trying to provide this XPATH to the Canoo Webtest testing facility and am now converting the paths manually but can't seem to grab an element.

Is this the wrong approach? Am I missing something?

I am not familiar with Canoo webtest if it supports XPath 1.0 you should be able to select using the long generic form.

You can use the Stylus Studio XPath evaluator to test your expression.
