Another possibility would be a buttom or context menu that would send the transformed document to another program -- like perhaps the system default web browser, or maybe a text/xml/html editor. The Save option helps, but it's a more cumbersome process to save/hunt/Open with... Thanks

David,

Stylus allows you to send the output to an external application, just as you suggested. Open the .xsl scenario and check the box "Preview result in an external application". Now run it. The application chosen will depend on the <xsl:output method=>

Is this what you were hoping for?

Well, not quite. I'd rather not have to change the scenario. Generally, I quite like your preview window, save for this one limitation.

I wonder, could a future version maybe let you alt-click the preview button (green arrow) to temporarily enable the "Preview result in external application" option for just that one preview?

I know I'm coming up with a lot of ideas as a new (paid) user -- some of which may be utterly impractical. Regardless, I do appreciate your time thinking about and responding to them.

Just had a better idea than a modified click. In your file open dialog, the Open button has a default behavior but also has a popup menu for modified behaviors. Perhaps the preview button could be similarly equipped. That would certainly be more discoverable.
