The file open dialogs in Stylus Studio dont seem to understand Windows file shortcuts. They are listed as .lnk files that confuse it if they are clicked rather than SS doing the "right thing". Am I mis-installed?

Yes, it's a known limitation. Stylus Studio doesn't currently understand them.

No. The open file dialog does not support links (both file system shortcut
and links in a Unix FTP server). It's on our todo list, however.

Five year old thread, but I'm running into the same problem. Windows shortcuts don't work. When I click on one, I get a dialog which says "Choose a module to open the unknown file extension". This is bad. :(

Any fixes?

Hi Matthew,
the problem that was discussed in this thread has been fixed a long time ago; could you tell us more about this shortcut, so that we can see why it doesn't get navigated?

Hello Alberto,

Just FYI, the OS I'm using is Windows Vista Ultimate. Don't know if anything has changed that could have affected file extension handling...

As a simple example, I created a directory in the "C:\test" directory called "MyTestDirectory". I then created a shortcut to the "MyTestDirectory" in the C:\test" directory. I've attached a couple snapshots of StylusStudio. The two pictures show the screen before and after clicking on the shortcut icon.

A side note: the shortcuts show up in SS's "File Explorer" panel, but I don't see any of their contents (e.g. subdirectories).

Hi Matthew,
as it turns out, shortcuts in MS Vista behave differently from ones
in Windows XP. We are investigating the issue, and hope to have a fix soon.
