Incidentally, until a new version is created, it is worthwhile keeping a copy of ide.chm hidden away for use with each new Build of SS (see
http://www.stylusstudio.com/SSDN/default.asp?action=9&read=6639&fid=59). I just downloaded again the exact same 13Mb file, needlessly.

The online documentation at http://www.stylusstudio.com/docs/v2007/ is more complete than that in ide.chm (I don't know if they're separate purposes, or just out of synch - but the online one is more help to me).

Can we have a new .CHM file generated from this HTML content, please?

It is awkward to browse through the online content, and saving the odd HTML page is not a great solution.

I'm looking for help on setting up Custom XML Validation Engines - Chapter 16 (http://www.stylusstudio.com/docs/v2007/d_adv2.html#wp254767).
It is rather sketchy, but better than what I can find in the ide.chm file*.

[EDIT] * - I have found the material in ide.chm since initially writing this, but the online docs and the .CHM are out of synch. It does seem that all that is needed is to generate a new .CHM file from the online docs.
[EDIT] ** - corrected - the filedate is 25/04/2007 not 24/05/2007.

Thanks.

Ian

I was just replying that the same information indeed is in the .chm help file. Also, not that the latest documentation set in HTML format is http://www.stylusstudio.com/docs/v2007R2/

Oh, I was led to http://www.stylusstudio.com/docs/v2007/ - I will try the URL with R2 on the end. [*]
What I have been looking at online (../docs/v2007/ ) seems way ahead of what is in the 25/04/2007 ide.chm

[*] R2 does not exist. I HAVE been looking at the current docos, I think.

...not sure I'm following you; http://www.stylusstudio.com/docs/v2007R2/ does indeed exist.

Can you provide one or more examples about areas in which you find the v2007 documentation more "up-to-date" than the current .chm and/or v2007R2?

Sorry, I must have mis-typed. I'm at the right place now.

The ide.chm has 17 chapters.

http://www.stylusstudio.com/docs/v2007/ has 18 chapters. This is what I had been looking up, until now.

http://www.stylusstudio.com/docs/v2007R2/ has 17 chapters.

That's too confusing for my brain.

Hi, Ian. Chapter 12: Accessing Relational Data as XML documented the DB-to-XML module, which was dropped in Stylus Studio 2007 R2. This accounts for the differences in the chapter count between v2007 and v2007R2 documentation.

Except for some differences in the Preface and front matter, both the ide.chm and HTML version of the documentation contain the same content.

I hope this helps clear up any confusion.

That's the stuff I'm interested in! What's the situation, then?

Again, the DB-to-XML module has been dropped for 2007R2,
so there is no documentation for it.

The functionality can now be gotten using XQuery, which
supports updates.
