As XQuery moves closer to becoming a W3C recommendation, Java developers are eagerly looking to take advantage of its ability query XML. But many are not sure exactly where or how to get started.
At Tri-XML 2005, Jonathan Robie, XQuery co-author and XML program manager at DataDirect Technologies, will headline two XQuery-focused sessions designed to get developers working with XQuery.
First, Robie will conduct a product presentation, “DataDirect XQuery: Database and Platform Independent XQuery for RDBMS and XML,” where he will reveal DataDirect Technologies’ new product DataDirect XQuery™, the only database and platform independent XQuery product that allows developers to access both relational and XML data sources.
Additionally, Robie will present, "XML Queries for Database Publishing, Web Pages, and Web Services," where he will focus on the XQuery language and common usage scenarios.

About DataDirect XQuery:
DataDirect XQuery™ is the first embeddable component for XQuery that implements the XQuery for Java™ API (XQJ). It supports all major relational databases on any Java platform. DataDirect XQuery allows you to query XML, relational databases or a combination of the two, integrating the results for XML-based data exchange, XML-driven Web sites, and other applications that require or leverage the power of XML. DataDirect XQuery installs easily; it does not require its own server infrastructure and is scalable from desktop to enterprise applications. DataDirect XQuery is designed for software developers and independent software vendors (ISVs) who need to manage heterogeneous data sources in XML applications. DataDirect XQuery is in beta now. For more information on DataDirect XQuery contact Nancy Vodicka at +1-919-461-4326 or visit http://www.datadirect.com/xquery.
