I got stuck implementing XSLT to convert from flat structure like this
<nodes>
<node parentNode="ROOT" parentNodeValue="ROOT" NodeName="DIVISION" NodeValue="1">ABC</node>
<node parentNode="DIVISION" parentNodeValue="1" NodeName="REGION" NodeValue="11">REGION OF ABC</node>
<node parentNode="REGION" parentNodeValue="11" NodeName="DISTRICT" NodeValue="11a">DISTRICT OF REGION OF ABC</node>
</nodes>
to something like this:
<nodes>
<DIVISION NodeValue="1">ABC
<REGION NodeValue="11">REGION OF ABC
<DISTRICT NodeValue="11a">DISTRICT OF REGION OF ABC</DISTRICT>
<DISTRICT..................../>
</REGION>
<REGION ............/>
</DIVISION>
</nodes>
i am working on a generic recursive conversion, as my INPUT XML may have unlimited levels of parent/child relationships, and names (FIELDNAMES) can also be different.
But each node always will have this:
FieldName
FieldValue
ParentFieldName
ParentFieldValue
thanks in advance
I am using Stylus 2007 Studio (eval), trying to figure it out.
I looked trought the examples and searched the forums, but did not find anything similar.
Any help would be appritiated. Maybe i just need to be pointed to the right direction.

Thanks Alberto, but this does not really makes a recursive calls.
I am trying to get a recursive functionality where node is sent and it would check/match if the current node has children, if so it would add them to the current node, etc.

Hi Dude,
recursion in XSLT is done with xsl:apply-templates, and my code does actually build the tree by looking for the nodes that have the current one as parent (that, in turn, explore their own children). Have you tried the code with your data?
