Steve WashSubject: Expanding tables?

I'm completely new to XML/XSL and the other related technologies. Is it possible to create an XSL or otherwise display an XML file so that so that each header/master entry has a [+/-] button next to it which the user can use to toggle the expansion/hiding of the details?

Hi, Steve. I'm not sure if you're talking about the display of parent/child elements in an XML document, and, if so, whether you're talking about being able to do this (expand/collapse) in Stylus Studio, or in some type of output.

Stylus Studio's XML Editor has Tree and Grid views that support the functionality you're describing.

If you're talking about transforming an XML document into, say, HTML using XSLT and adding controls that allow the reader/user to expand and collapse sections of the document, that's certainly possible, but not especially trivial.

Yes, that's exactly what I'm talking about. Transforming an XML document into HTML and using XSLT as well as adding controls to allow the user to expand and collapse sections of the document. Very similar to what you are doing inside the Stylus Studio editor, but inside a browser.

I do know enough to see the red flag here - adding controls. I really didnt want to use ASP.

Never mind. I found an ASP solution (non-XSL, however) that does what I need.
