Please refer to the attahced picture.

Please explain why when I choose a line to be the "active branch"
it does NOT stay selected. And the grey area appears which basically
from my understnding there has been NO active branch selected.

If the choose branch doesn't remain selected (and if it is grayed out), it
means that the processor is failing to activate it (which should only
happen if the test condition never succeeds).

Is the branch associated to the test expression visible in the picture you
have attached ever executed when "normally" running the stylesheet?

the branch is being tested at runtime.

But lets be clear here, the attachments show my screen at develop time

NOT run time.

If the branch is executed during a normal XSLT execution and its activation
is failing in WYSIWYG mode, then it would help being able to reproduce it
for us. Any chance you can send us XSLT and XML files you are using for
this development?
