Bill DurrellSubject: xsd to xml
Author: Bill Durrell

Hi ,

I just tried generating an xml document from a schema with minOccurs="10" maxOccurs="10" . The tool generates the elements but only 5 not 10 as specified . How can I make it generate the required number.

Thanks,

Bill

Hi, Bill. First, our apologies for having let this slip through the cracks.

Now, can you tell us if you're still having this problem? If you are, can you let us know which version and build of Stylus Studio you are using?

We are currently at Stylus Studio 2006, build 501h, and if you have not already upgraded you might want to consider doing so.

Bill,

We've just verified that this problem still occurs (no pun intended) in the current build. We'll have it fixed for the next release of Stylus Studio.

There was some confusion on this topic because I provided the wrong information to David.

XSD to XML has an option to avoid generating huge documents see

Tools
Options
Module Settings
XML Schema Editor
XML Schema to XML

You just need to increase the Maximum for number of repeating elements.

Hope this helps

Hi,
just wanted to say thanks.
Unlike other tools, some of them mentioned in this forum,
this product is able to generate a proper XML template
from an XSD, even for recursive elements, and even when the XSD
contains choice elements.

One comment, though: It would have been nice if the options determining the number of elements produced, etc., had been accessible from the dialog where the actual XML-file generation is done.

Regards,
Erik
