Evening All

Trying to connect I get the following:
*******************
java.sql.SQLException: [XQuery][SQLServer JDBC Driver]The requested instance is either invalid or not running.
at com.ddtek.xquery.jdbc.base.BaseExceptions.createException(Unknown Source)
at com.ddtek.xquery.jdbc.base.BaseExceptions.getException(Unknown Source)
at com.ddtek.xquery.jdbc.sqlserver.tds.TDSConnection.mapInstanceNameToPort(Unknown Source)
at com.ddtek.xquery.jdbc.sqlserver.tds.TDSConnection.<init>(Unknown Source)
at com.ddtek.xquery.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerImplConnection.open(Unknown Source)
at com.ddtek.xquery.jdbc.base.BaseConnection.connect(Unknown Source)
*******************

As per other discussions on this board I have checked to ensure that TCP is running on my SQl server on port 1493 and that the local version of Java is correct.

I have tested it now with both a MS SQL 2005 and MS SQL 2000 server and get the same response each time. If I connect to the Server rather than a specific DB I can see the various DBOs, which would indicate that I have TCP/IP connectivity, but I get the error when I try to link to a DB.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks - guy
