Elaine RosenbergSubject: Changing default directory for "make canonical"
Author: Elaine Rosenberg
Date: 09 Aug 2006 01:43 PM
Hello,

I have an XML document that I am validating against a DTD that specifies a default value for an attribute. When I run "make canonical" on my XML document, it expects the DTD to be in my Local Settings\temp directory. How can I modify the location it uses during this processing for locating the DTD? My DTD is in the same directory as my XML document.

Thanks,
Elaine

Hi Elaine,

Thank You for reporting this. The next update will have it fixed.

You could change the DTD path from relative to absolute form or store the DTD in the XML itself.

Keep in mind that "Make Canonical XML" removes any kind of reference to DTD.

Hope this helps

You could also use an OASIS-style catalog to cause Stylus Studio
to look in a different place to find the DTD. Catalogs allow you
to redirect the lookup at runtime so you don't have to change the
documents.
