RE: Converting to ASCII equivalent

Hi,
       IMHO no extension would be needed if the OP was willing to invest
the time in preparing the ASCII table in xml format. He could then look up
the corresponding ascii equivalent for a character from the lookup.xml file
and return it.

No denying that it would be far easier if he were to use extension
functions though.
