I should have said use the "Response" object i.e.
doc.transformNodeToObject xsl, Response
Which will stream the result to the client. If you want to do it to a
file although I think you probably don't you will need to

f = fso.GetFile("test1.xml");
ts = f.OpenAsTextStream(ForWriting, TristateUseDefault);
