Another good reference to try is:

"1.1 Practical Transformation Using XSLT and XPath"

which you can find at:

The great thing about this book, is that it is never "outdated" (i.e. it's
written according to the latest XSLT spec) and updates are sent to you at no
extra cost.  This takes the onus off of you to constantly check for updates
in the "latest" version of the spec!! Which other book(s) offer you these
services?
