Sablotron (actually sabcmd - its command line interface) support it this way: sabcmd sheet.xsl data.xml "$type=art" $type then appears as a top-level stylesheet parameter. The use of single or double quotes may depend on the shell used. Single quotes work for bash, double quotes work in Windows.
